USPS Proposed Presort and Standard Rate Increases

The USPS has filed a proposed rate increase.

The USPS has filed a proposed rate increase.  If approved, the new rates will take effect April 17, 2011.

Proposed changes include:

  • First-class presort increase of 1.8%
  • Standard letter increase of 1.8%
  • Postcard increase to $0.29/piece
  • First class mail will remain $0.44/piece

The USPS also proposes extending the deadline for implementing Intelligent Mail Barcodes until May 2011.
