It really does come down to comfort level.  I am fully comfortable tweeting pictures of my dogs.  I can put them on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and I will get lots of likes and follows.  Of course, they are cute!

But how do I take something so personal and translate it into something that will work on a professional level?

Well, here are my thoughts.  What do I like and what moves me?  Animals, so easy.  If all nonprofits were animals I don’t think we would have to worry about fundraising.  Take for instance this link I saw on my personal Facebook page of an abused dog that is shown affection for the first time.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r29ml-4Mwb8

All you would have to do is post this video with a call to action.  My goodness, I wanted to write a check or take the dog home as soon as I saw it.  That’s the point.  Taking real stories and sharing them with your donors.  Letting them see the heartache, but also the triumph of what their dollars mean.  It doesn’t have to be a dog of course, but you get the idea, a picture or video is worth a thousand words (or dollars).
